Well the I Phone, I touch, and the I Pad have obviously become such a common thing....I am travelling by the MRT in Singapore and I find that 3 out of 5 people are holding this device. All of them are using one app or the other. While the stories of the ones behind the creation of these marvelous apps are amazing, developing one of your own, with your own name would be little tough but definitely within your reach.
I would suggest you start from the basics
Download I PHONE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM by STANFORD from I Tunes U. This could be a series of tedious lectures (one hour each) but according to me it is certainly better than reading 50 articles.
You have to download the free i phone sdk from apple. If you are running a leopard version 10.5.8 or earlier then click this and you can get the earlier version of i phone sdk
Well try creating some and you could always get tons and tons of resources from apple itself
And I hope you would, within no time be creating apps of your own
Best of Luck
